April 8, 2012

City has had another great year at the Australian Championships, bringing home two gold, three silver and five bronze medals.

We were the only WA club to win gold. Alison O'Toole extended her record with her eighth consecutive 2km Run win, and Under 19 girls Gabby Murphy, Britt Brymer, Maddy Ardon and Amy Murphy won their Beach Relay.

Gabby and Britt also finished with silver and bronze respectively in the Under 19 Women's Beach Flags, Gabby won another silver in the Under 19 Sprint, and the pair teamed with Montana Ardon and Meaghan Slattery for a bronze in the Open Relay.

Simon Huitenga won bronze in the Open Men's Surf Race, the club's first ever medal in this prestigious event. Josh Walker also won bronze in the Open Men's Champion Lifesaver.

Under 17 ski paddler Shannon Reynolds finished second in her Single Ski race, and after many years of competing together Roshann Davies and Mundawae Sanderson-Green finally made it onto the podium with a bronze in the Under 19 First Aid championship.
