![]() Brittanny in action at the 2011 Australian Championships Britt finished second in the Open Women's Beach Sprint to Australian Champion Melissa Howard from Kurrawa at the first round of the 2011-12 Fastest Man on Sand Series. Having recently returned to live in Queensland, Britt is continuing to compete for the City of Perth Club. Britt was a star performer at last seasons WA State Championships, winning the Under 17 Women's Beach Sprint and Beach Flags and also the Open Beach Flags. At the Australian Championships she won Bronze in the U17 flags and was fifth in the U17 sprint. The Fastest Man (and we presume Woman) on Sand Series is a five round series organised by Surf Life Saving Queensland. Round One formed part of the high profile weekend which culminated in the iconic Coolangatta Gold race. Brittanny, an U19 competitor, was competing in the Open Women's Sprint and Flags. She was also a finalist in the Open Flags finishing a credible sixth. City of Perth Coach Leigh Buchan said that Brittany's results were impressive considering she is a first year U19 and also the quality of the competition that she was up against. The City of Perth Club wishes Britt all the best in the upcoming rounds of the series. |
