The Season Celebrated
May 8, 2010

On Saturday night the club celebrated the achievements of the 2009-10 season, recognised the feats of our members and awarded two new Life Memberships.

The change in format to a cocktail function rather than a sit-down dinner breathed new life into the event and attracted more than 170 members.

Our Australian medallists were recognised and presented with a framed memento of their achievement, Penny Cohen received her 25 Year Membership award, and the winners of the W.R. Somerford Marathon were presented with their prizes.

We saw the induction of two new Life Members - Mal Lowther and Geoff Wilson. Both of these members have played an important part in the clubs history over a very long time, particularly in the boat section but also working for the club as a whole.

Finally, a number of very important club awards were presented recognising the efforts of members who have made outstanding contributions to different areas of the club this season.
