Champion Lifesaver

The 2010 State Championships campaign has kicked off with City winning a number of medals in the Champion Lifesaver events on the weekend.

Consisting of a theory paper, judged resuscitation, plus a surf race, board race, rescue tube race and beach sprint, the event tests the all-round abilities of competitors.

City coaches Kim Lovett and Jess Cohen have been preparing their team for several weeks, with many City competitors doing the event for the first time.

The final results were fantastic, with City winning four gold, two silver and two bronze medals from the seven events conducted.
