Over the Australia Day weekend most of the new novice rowers and sweeps went up to Lancelin for a training day.
Unfortunatley, as Lancelin can do, the breeze came in about five minutes after we got on the beach. But to the guys credit (and the fact that Peter and I said they had to) they all got wet and practiced rowing out through the small break and caught some little runs back to the beach.
The City surf boat being towed around lancelin and then down on to back beach proved to be a head turner and a couple of locals came up to talk to the mad boaties .
Happily for the crew (though less happily for the photographer) there were no roll overs or broken gear or bones.
Then it was back to the Lilburne's block for lunch and a chat. It was a great day and I think all of us got something out of it.
