The new year was brought in on Sunday at City with the running of the 1000 Metre Handicap.
Unfortunately some of them didn't listen to the course instructions properly and either went too far on the swim or too short on the run. Others became confused by the handicaps and left the start line with the superfish at the back instead of with the slow old blokes at the front. In between all that, the race was won by Simon Huitenga who received the prize of a $75 voucher for the club shop. Aaron Minervini and Brittanny Brymer each won $30 vouchers, as fastest male and female respectively. Meanwhile the club President is considering introducing a new "first out of the water" prize for the leader at the halfway mark, as that's where he's been the last two times he's done this event. But that running back bit has got knobs on it. |
