Patrols
September 27, 2009

The club now has an online patrol rostering system. This year you only need to do four patrols - and you get to select your own patrol dates by accessing our new online system to sign up.

Bronze holders are being loaded now and you should have already received an email with instructions about how to access the system. If not, you'll be getting it soon. If you don't get an email, we don't have your current email address - contact Patrol Officers Jae Moffatt and Matilda Sydenham ASAP!

Your four patrols must be spread out through the season with one from each of the these patrol blocks:

  • Block 1 - October to 28 November.
  • Block 2 - 29 November to AM patrol on 31 January
  • Block 3 - PM patrol 31 January to 27 March
  • Block 4 - Long Weekends and Public Holidays

October patrols will be from 08:45 - 1:00 until the last weekend when we commence full patrols.

Morning patrols from then onward will be 08:45 - 1:30 and afternoon patrols from 1:15 - 6:00. This means on the beach ready to go - not turning up at that time!

Patrols for states and Aussies will be assigned separately as we have done in the last couple of years.

Patrols are currently released online up until the end of November so we can work out any initial issues. As soon as the developer finalizes a couple of technical changes we will release the patrol dates for the rest of the season. If you have not signed up for your patrols by 30 October we will allocate you to patrols.

What do I need to do?

If you are a Bronze holder, you need to:

  1. Access the system here
  2. Select the patrols tab (at the top, third from the left)
  3. Click on the calendar to see individual patrol dates
  4. Select only one patrol at this stage until we release more. (You are only required to do one patrol from this block)

Patrol Captains and Vice Captains have finalized their dates already.

Due to a technical issue we will allocate patrols for SRC members will not be able to pick their patrols in the same way as bronze holders for a few more weeks.

You MUST be financial to patrol!! - for lots of reasons including insurance cover!! The system will not allow you to select a patrol if you haven't paid your fees.

The new system allows email reminders and also lets you check your patrols and attendance.

We will also be loading other things such as training courses onto this system in due course. You will see links to other club activities in the system, however don't rely on these for complete information about what is going on at this stage.

Queries about the new system and the patrol roster should be directed to the Patrol Officers - Jae Moffatt and Matilda Sydenham.
