Recently the national Surf Life Saving High Performance Program held a 3 day camp for squad members at Coffs Harbour, with two City members in attendance.
Dean Scarff and Gabrielle Murphy were both selected in the national program after last seasons Aussies and flew the flag for City.
Designed as a development camp for Tyr 1 and 2 squad members, some Tyr 3 athletes such as Dean also took the opportunity to attend. Over the weekend athletes were put through training sessions conducted by the national coaches, as well as presentations on strength and conditioning, recovery strategies and anti-doping protocols. Team building activities concluded the weekend.
It was a great opportunity for Dean and Gabby, and their presence at the camp also keeps City as a club on the radar of the national selectors.
