Patrol Hours
December 19, 2008

As the end of December approaches it is time for the competitors of the club to begin getting ready for State and Australian Championships - and the first thing you need to do is make sure you have your patrol hours done.

To compete at the State or Australian Championships, members need to have completed a minimum of 16 patrol hours over the 2008 calendar year.*

You can see how many hours you have completed here. Check that list now and if there's a problem do something about it - don't leave it until January when it's too late.

There are still six possible days left to do more hours if you need to - this Saturday and Sunday, then Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the following weekend. After that, it's too late.

With the first carnival coming up in early January, competitors should also check the Down Hours List - anyone who is down hours on patrol will not be permitted to enter carnivals. If you have any queries about the Down Hours list, call Ken Richards on 0403 385051.

* Active Reserve members need 8 hours; Long Service and Life Members are exempt. There are also exceptions for new (this season) members. Contact Surf Sports Officer Steve Carrick if you're not sure what you need to do.
