Lisa Oldenhof's K4 500 Olympic kayak crew have raced in Beijing and qualified for Friday's final. The heats were run on Monday afternoon, with the first three teams getting a finals berth while the remainder raced second chance semi finals on Wednesday. In Australia's heat, the Hungarian crew were the first across the line with the Polish and Australian crews fighting for second. At the line Poland were just ahead, recording a time just 0.02 seconds faster than the Australians. That equates to less than 1cm difference, over a 500 metre race! The final will take place at 4:20pm Perth time on Friday with live coverage on ABC Radio, and Channel Seven possibly showing it some time during the evening if they can fit it in between Stephanie Rice interviews, Sally McLellan replays and Michael Phelps montages. |
