World Championships

Rescue 2008, the 2008 World Championships, are underway in Germany with Alicia Marriott racing for Australia.

The international teams component of the Championships has been running the past few days, with the interclub events soon to commence.

Alicia Marriott has been racing as part of the Australian team, with some great results.

Alicia won the Women's Surf Race, and combined with Kristy Munroe to win the Board Rescue. She was also a member of the winning teams in the Oceanwoman (Cameron) Relay and the Beach Relay(!)

In the Board Race, Alicia finished second behind Nikki Cox of New Zealand, and she was also second in the Oceanwoman (Ironwoman) race, which was won by Australia's Naomi Flood.
