The 1000m Swim/Run Handicap race was held on Sunday, with Anna Forgione first across the line in a tight finish.
With a Nipper carnival in progress at City as well on Sunday, the normal course of swim to Floreat groyne then run back was amended. Instead, racers ran to the south first, then swam back to finish in front of the clubrooms.
In a small but select field Anna Forgione got into the lead about 100 metres into the swim, and held on to beat a fast finishing Jessie George. Jaime Bowler was a close up third.
Tom Dowling put in a great swim off the back mark to finish 5th and record the fastest corrected time for the event of 11.23. Jess George's corrected time of 11.27 and Jaime Bowlers 11.34 were also great swims.
