Club Swim
4th November 2007

With proficiencies out of the way the Sunday morning Club Swim has started again, under the care of new club Handicapper Ken Richards.

The Swim is somewhere between 200 and 300 metres long, and is on most Sunday mornings at 9:30 (check the club calendar for exceptions - generally speaking if there is a senior interclub carnival on then there will be no swim).

After extensive consultation (i.e. whinges) with some of the back-markers, the scratch handicap has come in to 2:00 rather than 2:45 this year. The increments for other handicaps is also now 20 seconds rather than 15. This doesn't really affect you as a swimmer, but it means Ken has less counting to do and won't get confused as often.

The Swim will be followed each week with a Beach Sprint of 90-odd metres.

There are Aggregate Points trophies for both Swims and Runs in each age category. Club members must complete at least six Club Swims for the season in order to be eligible for any club trophies or awards at the end of the seaosn.

The current swim handicaps can be seen here.
