Froccer
11th August 2007

City's Froccer team has been defeated once again by Scarboro, in a tight match on Saturday.

All the boys put on their best dresses for the occasion as we sought to regain the Cup from Scarboro for the first time since 2003

After the pre-match sledging and other traditions, City won the toss and elected to kick toward the western end of the ground. Scarboro immediately took advantage of the favourable wind and a series of shots on goal and corners had the City defence under pressure. But they stood firm and the game settled into a pretty even tussle in which neither team was able to score.

Eventually something had to give, and in the second half Scarboro were able to put a through ball in to a running forward to set up a two-on-one against the City 'keeper, and the breakthrough goal was scored.

Although there was plenty of time left, and with Scarboro goalie John Snook off the ground with an injury, the City team were unable to get a quality shot away, and Scarboro held on the claim the trophy for the fourth successive year.
