Webcam Counts A Million

During the week, our club webcam page received it's one millionth hit. More than a thousand people visit City Beach via the webcam every day.

The webcam was installed in the clubrooms in September 2003, and it didn't take long for people to take to it as a way to at least be at the beach in spirit if you can't be there physically. We get regular email from people all around the world who like to visit our beach online, and it's not uncommon to see someone standing in the middle of the beach waving at the clubrooms (usually with a sign or a mobile phone in the other hand).
