Groyne To Groyne Beach Sprint
8th January 2007

The club's Groyne to Groyne Beach Sprint trophy was run on Sunday morning.

A tough 480 metre run through soft sand, the Groyne to Groyne as usual was hotly contested. Having been kept to the minor places in each of the last two years, Dean Scarff was keen to take out his first title. But once again he had to settle for second place as James Cohen showed his combination of sprint and endurance to cross the line in front.

Veteran Brett Slocombe was next across, looking fit and sparking rumours of a beach sprint comeback at this year's States. Young guns Jesse George and Josh Walker were the next ones through, and Amy Murphy was the first of the girls.
