Gabrielle Murphy

Gabrielle Murphy came through the City Nipper ranks and has emerged as one of the nation's most exciting beach competitors.

Gabby first competed at the Australian Championships while still a Nipper in 2008, and won two Under 15 medals - a gold in the Beach Relay and silver in the Beach Sprint.

In 2009 Gabby won her first individual gold, in the Under 15 Beach Flags. She also won gold in the Under 19 Beach Relay, plus bronzes in the Under 15 Beach Sprint and Beach Relay, and was selected in the National High Performance Squad.

Gabby continued to improve in 2010, and won the Australian Championships double in the Under 17 Women's - gold in both the Sprint and Flags. She also anchored the Under 17 Relay team (who finished fourth after a dropped baton) and the Under 19 Relay team (who won the silver medal).

In 2011, Gabby finished fourth and sixth respectively in the Under 17 Women's Flags and Sprint, and was part of the Under 17 Women's Beach Relay team that won a bronze medal.
